Howdy! I love what I do. Ever since I had a “yes” feeling about pursuing massage therapy about three years ago, everything has come together beautifully. I attended the Lane Community College massage therapy program and I feel very grateful to have found a supportive environment here at Hand of the Heart.

I look forward to listening to your body and your words to be part of your health journey.

When I’m not massaging, I enjoy snuggling my toddler, playing in the garden, and cooking.

I also speak Spanish! (¡Yo también hablo español!)

Listening is the most important skill I have learned as a massage therapist – listening with my ears, heart, and hands. My focus is on Swedish massage which, among other techniques, uses gliding strokes and light to moderate pressure. While beneficial to anyone, it is an excellent approach for the elderly and people in frail condition. I also use gentle techniques to address fascial pain and muscle tightness. I attended Lane Community College for my massage therapy training, graduating in 2013.

My family and I moved to Oregon in 2000 from the great plains state of South Dakota. Right away, Oregon felt like home! The McKenzie River is my favorite place to camp, hike, raft, and relax. I have three adult children who are making their mark out in the world.

Massage has become one of my favorite ways to directly give back to the community. My personal take on massage is that it should be as comfortable as possible in order to achieve the best therapeutic results, and that what ends up being comfortable is different for each individual. My aim is to listen well, communicate clearly, and hold a safe space for you as we co-create a nourishing experience focused around you and your needs. I invite you to come as you are and embark on the path of therapeutic rejuvenation with me.

I moved to Eugene from Illinois in 2021 to attend massage school at Lane Community College. My passion for massage was a rediscovery for me, and is something I’ve enjoyed doing since I was very young. I’m also a musician (primarily playing the acoustic guitar since 2010), and enjoy the outdoors, reading, travel, and other simple gifts that life continually has to offer.

I always joked that I would go to massage school if I didn’t go to university because it was the only thing I was good at. That joke became a reality in 2024 and I found my passion. Massage is my way of helping people and giving back to my community, and it is a wholly rewarding experience. I mostly practice Swedish massage, but am skilled in deep tissue as well.

Aside from massage, I am a rocker and historian at heart. I’d love to teach a class on the evolution of American music someday, years in the future.

Jenn

License #26213

My name is Jenn and I was born and raised in the Eugene/Springfield area.

I decided to have my career in massage therapy because I like the connection that the whole body has. It’s like a puzzle I can’t put down. Over the years I have learned multiple modalities, but I lean into a Hawaiian technique, Lomi Lomi and cupping.

I like anything that keeps me moving; hiking, kayaking when the weather is right, camping, reading, writing, painting, cooking and dancing. I also love spending time with my family and friends playing board games, video games and whipping up something tasty.

Insurance accepted: Accepts membership and package clients, MVA or self pay clients. Currently Out of network with all other commercial contracts.
